- Englewood Construction's "Hard Hat Chat" Named CWA Best Blog of 2011
The Construction Writers Association (CWA) has announced that Englewood Construction, a national commercial construction firm, will receive the 2011 Website & Electronic Communications Blog Award for its commercial construction blog Hard Hat Chat, www.hardhatchat.com.
Englewood Construction will accept the coveted award for best blog at the CWA's annual conference in San Antonio on Oct. 25.

- Englewood Construction Announces Six New Midwest Projects, Including Children's Creative Learning Center in Chicago
Englewood Construction has been tapped for six new projects throughout the Midwest.
In the Chicago area, Englewood has been hired for the expansion and renovation of the Children's Creative Learning Center (CCLC).
The second Chicago-area project is the build-out of a 13,345-square-foot Advanced Auto Parts store.
In the restaurant sector, Noodles & Company has tapped Englewood for four restaurant remodel and maintenance projects.

- Local 17 Heat and Frost Insulators Taps Englewood Construction for New Headquarters in Tinley Park
Englewood Construction has begun construction on the new headquarters for Local 17 International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators. Located at 18590 Spring Creek Drive in Tinley Park, Ill., Local 17's new 30,000-square-foot headquarters is a design-build project and will bring all three of the union's disciplines under one roof.

Englewood Construction has announced it has completed construction on five retail projects in the Chicago and Washington, D.C. regions. Projects include a 21,654-square-foot hhgregg store in Joliet, Illinois and an American Girl boutique store in McLean, Virginia.

Englewood Construction announced the completion of an alternative-energy equipment installation at Sloan Valve, a plumbing systems manufacturer in Franklin Park, Ill. Englewood Construction has completed a major interior renovation of the American Girl Place Store at 609 Fifth Avenue in New York City. This marks the third American Girl Place store in less than seven months that the Schiller Park, Ill.-based contractor has worked on. Press Release

Englewood Construction has been selected as the general contractor to complete six Value Place hotels in various stages of construction in four states. All six hotels are real estate owned (REO) properties. - Zara Taps Englewood Construction for Michigan Avenue Flagship Store
Englewood Construction has begun construction on a new Zara flagship store at 700 N. Michigan Avenue in Chicago. This marks the third pairing of Spanish retailer Zara with Englewood Construction. In November 2008, Englewood completed Zara's first store in the Midwest at Westfield Old Orchard Shopping Center in Skokie, Ill. as well as a Zara in Peabody, Mass. Press Release.

Englewood Construction has been chosen as the general contractor to complete the first Flip Flop Shops in Las Vegas. Based out of Atlanta, Flip Flop Shops is the first retail chain dedicated to flip flops. Press Release.

- Englewood Opens Two American Girl Stores
Englewood opened the new American Girl flagship store in October at Water Tower Place in Chicago, IL along with the American Girl "boutique" store at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN in November.
Their newest "boutique" store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan in New York City is scheduled to open by Memorial Day.

Englewood opened the first ZARA store in the Midwest at Old Orchard Center in Skokie, IL and another ZARA store at the Northshore Mall in Peabody, MA.
Spanish retailer, ZARA has surpassed all other apparel retailers and is named the top apparel retailer in the world.

Englewood expands Vera Bradley's national presence and prepares to open stores in four additional states totaling 17 new stores.
